TRINITY! Woop, fair play. Seemingly its because of the high grades that students get, and because the college has a broad range of subjects!!

    Second place DCU!! Woop.

    Fourth place UCD.

I'm not sure why, it's all in the independant tomorrow people!!

These surveys are meaningless as, when it comes to an individual student, you have to take more factors into account like how motivated and intelligent that person is and how good the resources and staff of their particular department are and so on.

Not intending to sound like one of those idiots who love their college it must, nonetheless, be said. UCC is by FAR the best college in Ireland and, perhaps, the world!!! It really is just ...... simply the best!

Trinity with their Jelly Tots courses is 1st?

Surprised DCU came before UCD....both great colleges though and I agree UCC should have been 3rd.

Can you list the Top 10? Or put a link?

where did UL come in the rankings?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,381 ✭✭✭snorlax

i think it probably depends what course ur doing. some colleges are better then others for different courses. i heard dcu was good for computors and tcd for arts/literature.

i cant' believe ucd only got 4th! i bet thats to do with goverment cutbacks, as ucd as more students then any other college. tcd has smaller class numbers so its not likely to suffer as quickly from cutbacks which is probably why it's first.

Last year. They had the sign up at the gate (pimps:)) till mid-summer (in other words, for the full duration of their win)

Right, those types are things are completely meaningless.

Pick a college, for argument's sake UCD. Now, lower the standard that needs to be attained on all courses to receive the highest marks for um, not doing any work at all. This results in the % of students attaining these high grades being ranked among the top in the world etc. Easy as etc.

It's like the Sunday Times one on secondary schools last weekend, tells you nothing about the quality of the education, just that students from those schools went to college in the year that they left that school. Whereas in reality they might of all forked out a couple of grand on grinds, not had a social life or all qualified for sports scholarships etc.

as far as computer courses go, grad's from i.t colleges are usaully better trained for jobs in the the software industry than those of other colleges due to the teaching methods, i.t computer courses are about 90% hands on and 10% theory!
where as alot of other colleges are about 50% hands on 50% thoery!
so in other words in an i.t your learn software concepts by seeing them in action!
this is why i turned down a place in ucd for an i.t place!
(i know theres probably spelling mistakes everywhere ,sorry, my bad!)
