Using an american portable dvd player in car

    Is it possible just to plug in my dvd player i bought in america into the cigarette lighter part of my car??

    You need to make sure the voltage and ampage match. Otherwise you'll kaput it.

    did it come with a cigarette adaptor
    if yes plug away car power is 12 volts the adaptor will work the same as in the us
    if it didn't come with an adaptor you would need to find out what voltage the player needs and get a suitable adaptor
    usually not a good idea to charge the battery on the cigarette lighter
    but you could buy a step down converter in peats to charge the battery

    btw what type of player was it how much did you pay for it
    if you dont mind me asking
