Quick answer to that would be no. The Channel 5 signal is weak south of Collon, Co. Louth and definately not with an indoor aerial.

To add to Damos answer, nope, nigh impossible. Even less chance than receiving BBC, UTV & Channel 4 terrestially.

I have to say, for me, five is the best channel on sky digital. I'm thinking of cancelling my family pack sub and just using the FTV card. Excellent for the likes of CSI, the Shield etc etc

What!!!! Five is terrible. There is nothing on it that RTE or TV3 don't have weeks earlier. The only exception being Live Football sometimes.

Only way to get Five in Dublin is:
    1) Get a FTV card
    2) Take out a UK subscription
    3) Live in an area where a local cable co. provides it (ie Clonsilla)

I can pick up Five and the other 4 UK channels with an aerial that I put up last year in my attic, I have a booster on the aerial that improves the signal, I live on the northside of Dublin city, we pick up the singnal from Wales, I remember years and years ago before we has cable TV we had a monster of an aerial 20 feet over the chimney and we picked up TV form Wales never NI.
So it is possible depending where you are, but I also have a UK FTV card to I can pick them all up on satellite anyway, I just use the aerial for my bedrooms.

I bought a ftv card on eBay last year primarily for CH 5 and the live baseball and it worked fine for a few weeks. Then whenever i put the card in to watch something 'signal not recieved' screen came up and that was the end of it. i was dissapointed because i had channel 5 no more and that i paid nearly €50 for it.

Are you sure it said Signal Not Being Received? It may have been the banner to upgrade to receive the channel, which happens if card is out of the digibox for too long. Easily remedied by leaving card in box for 24hours or so to update the encryption keys.

    Setanta sports.

As far as i'm aware (well it was true last year coz i emailed them) nasn don't have the rights to the world series as Channel 5 have them for the UK.

But Setanta have them for Ireland. odd really as NASN have the rights to the American and national league series and the divisonal stuff too.
