Is there any way to stop Safari completing web page addresses as I key them in - even clearing history does not seem to stop the madness.

Have you removed the entries by clicking the edit button in that pane? You could also try resetting safari

I don't know how you can stand Safari, I think it's awful. Firefox has much less annoyances :-/

I tried Firefox - it kept crashing my machine! I.E.'s layout is woeful, the simple layout and pop-up blocker of Safari make it nice to use IMO.

    Works for me !

Yea I gotta say after using anything mozilla.org and opera I'm now a fan of safari, only after some of those nice cool extensions like Stand, Sogudi, Pithhelmet and Saft are added to the mix. /me sticks tongue out at eth0_ :p
