I have lived many years in Holland and Switzerland, which are both famous for their great coffeshops. Nowadays I am living in Dublin and having a hard time finding a decent cup of coffee.
Anyone out there who could help me out? Please!

PS: Sorry to those people who are offended by this post but I got the perfect solution for you, just look away.

Of course they have great coffee. When you're stoned, all coffee is good coffee.

I know what you feel like. I haven't got a decent cup of coffee here since I got spoilt by the Spanish coffee.

Coming over here with your high standards and your fancy Dutch joined-up handwriting.

(I remember one new year's eve going out to look for a drink in Dublin with a gang, one of whom happened to be Dutch. After the 10th bouncer had turned us away from the 10th bar/nightclub he lost it and said "This is not city! It is town for peasant!" :D )

What about Bewleys Coffee, about the most fanciest I have ever tasted!

Probably a travesty to say but the West Coast Coffee places do a decent cup, depending on what their special is... The Ethiopian blend is lovely.

Failing that, take a trip to Gloria Jean's (behind Brown Thomas) and you can have a wide selection, any of which they'll make up in a cafetiere. I can recommend the Zimbabe Gold and Italian Espresso for sure.
It's a nice little place early on, but gets too busy at lunchtimes with the 'in-crowd' unfortunately!

There's always moda in rathmines, a few of my mates go there for a coffee and apparently its good. Im not a coffee drinker myself, but they seem to like it and they consider themselves connusors (spelling)

Awful service there. They have some f-ed up system for paying for your purchases that involves presenting your receipt at the till as you leave. If you don't have the receipt it causes them problems and the counter staff start getting lippy. I didn't have the receipt because the waitress slopped coffee on it and it was only fit to be thrown out. I'm afraid I simply threw the money on the counter and told them forcefully that this was a TP (Their Problem) not an MP (My Problem) and stormed out, didn't wait for my change. :D

just got back from the Isle of Man and guess what, no coffee at all there. but a great place to chill out anyway
your suggestions are all funny but not really helpful. was hoping for some pm's after my return but instead i got comedy.
good idea Mear but tried that and my thumbs are just not green enough. Tman, who would I ask in the George without putting myself into danger of looking gay?
so after all the Irish aren't as helpful as people always say... ;)
would posting in another forum help maybe?

If you can't score blow in Dublin, then maybe you are in the wrong Dublin. You are certainly on the wrong internet, we are all clean living, God fearing, tea drinking folk....

the prob isn't the scoring, it's the quality. If you can't read, then maybe you should not write.

Try heroin instead. It's easy to get and nobody minds you jacking up in the street. Hang around Christchurch any day of the week. We won't miss you.

If you're offended by this post, I have a suggestion:
This isn't a drugs board, fu.ck off and ask a scumbag in a nightclub. They always know how to score.

The guy is talking about coffee, if this bothers you, I recommend you look around the world in which we live and... shut your mouth

That's not true Beruthiel, I know a few people who grow their own coffee and it's very nice indeed! Amsterdam standard coffee in Dublin! ;)

good link and all so true but considering that coffee loses 80% of THC when heated up too much, it's just not good enough. thanks anyway ;)

I just got back from my three day trip to Amsterdam ... man I really love that place ... just walking around in the city center looking at all the strange people is a nice way of spending a day...

I lived there for 3,5 years... now I wish I would have stayed there for another 3,5 years...

I miss Amsterdam as well, so when I want a really good cup of coffee, I have my continental friend post me over a jar of the finest ground dutch.

If you can't go to Amsterdam, have Amsterdam come to you.

Since we're now openly discussing where to get drugs, does this mean we can post warez and porn links too?

    Didn't think so.

We are? where? apart from your suggestion that people should try herion and acquire it from a scumbag in a nightclub  , nobody has mentioned where to get drugs in Ireland, we are simply discussing Dutch coffe shops...

I think you would need to open another thread for that subject, my bitter friend. I also think that a good cup of coffee would solve some of your problems.

You're the only one talking about drugs here matey, I mean what were you thinking telling people to go to nightclubs and score heroin from scumbags?
    Tsk tsk!
