I have tunned my Lidl SL55 into Astra 2. I get quality 82% and strenght 65%, but no pictures or sound on any station. Tried for example BBC1 East.

On hotbird I got black and white on lower quality and strength and every single station.

I have now tuned into Astra 1. The values I get are 80 - 90 % on both quality and strenght. I have good pictures, but again only black and white. I have checked my scart connection and it looks OK.

Is everything in black and white, including menus? If so, then it sounds like either the TV is receiving S-video from the receiver when it expects composite, or the TV expects S-video and is receiving composite from the receiver.

AFAIK, if the video format is set to NTSC (American format) instead of PAL, the picture will appear as black & white.

Yeah I just had a fiddle with the output settings on my SL55. Tried all the permutations of PAL, NTSC and PAL/NTSC as well as CVBS and RGB. Nothing I did would make the picture go black and white, so I'd say there might be something dodgy in your receiver. Just for the sake of experiment, try using the vcr scart output rather than the tv one or if you have a suitable lead the S-video or Composite outputs and see if they are in black and white.

might be that you have a NTSC compatible tv

That might be possible, tis a Panasonic, cost over a grand when it was bought just before the Euro came in, but I just checked on one of my other tvs as well, 21" Welltech from Lidl. Same result, nothing I change makes it b&w. Surely the more basic tv wouldn't be NTSC compatible as well?

Something I found if you switch to a TV channel broadcasting in SECAM (France Iran Etc) the picture goes B/W and stays B/W even when you switch back to a PAL channel

The only way around this is to leave it a while or else power off the box for a few seconds
