Firstly people keep saying they are dying in the academy

If you just go back to the central area now, where you start when you first enter the MUD, you will automatically be given food and water if and only when you are hungry or thirst.

Best thing is to gain Xp around the Academy until you hit level five,
use Con <monster> before attacking anything too is helpfully

A load of people have been asking me to make them Immortals.

Story is, I'm not just going to make everybody who askes an Immortal
especially when some of them haven't even logged on to the MUD even once. Please don't ask until you've at least level 15 or so. cause if I make you immortal you jump straight to level 51, and it does spoil the game somewhat if you can't be killed.

Lost Realms like all smaug muds supports guilds and clans, but I've not put the code in to use yet until we have more people of higher levels.

There will be quests, as soon as I'm finished with a few other things

People have been asking me how they can help, well the Mud has a rather small world at the moment, aside from the basics I've only put in a few other areas, so Builders and creators are wanted. The MUD engine allows for both OLC, online construction and ORB, Off line room building. Basically you can create rooms while in the mud it self or make them off line and I can just add them in and reboot. Just email me your ideas for the zone "include number of rooms, theme and monsters and skill range". At the moment there is only the primary town Darkhaven and a few surrounding areas, I hope to add a second town soon maybe even a third.

Hopefully I want to put in a few code tweaks and hacks, but t'wil be a few weeks before I update anything but, no player files will be lost, they are backed up automatical.

few things I plan to do:
update the help files some more.
fix up the guilds and clan systems.
setup quests.
increase the land size.

i want to get rid of my character but i cant
it wont let me malke a new one, everyt ime i connect it auto loads my character aaghghagargahgrhahgehag!!!!
so annoying. i did eveything wrong, i got out of the training hing too easy and no i cant buy anything cuz im too low level, and my hpo wont go up further than 6 cuz im dieing of thirst and hunger and wish my wounds would stop bleeding and i cant buy sustanace form the shops cuz my level !!!!!!!!!!!

Hey, The prob is you have a user and password saved in your simplemu Client.. Take that out and create a new Character

sorry I'm just enjoying the last of my holidays :-) back on monday *groan*. I takeit Gamb deleted your char as it wasn't there when I checked. but gambler was right just had auto loginon :-) nice too see we have a good few people in around 30+ last count.

just go back to the start area if you are thirsy or starving ...the one with the statue that you see when you start... if you are bleeding go to toric he will heal you and cast spells to boast your stats for a while:-)

I built my self a beautiful big Citadel :-)
and a nice big army too of Knights and soliders hehehe ...

haven't heard too many offers for zone builders :-)

em how do u get out of the corridor with dragonsnake , deathtrap and the shop?

once you kill the dragonsnake go up
and you'll find your self in the main battle ground ... be carefully ... you can get killed very easy up there

Ive tried that and it doesnt seem to work . Ive killed the snake a few times but i can never go "UP" . I says Door Closed so i assume that just means theres nothing there

Well you have to open the door before you can go thro it :-) didn't your mother ever teach you that

well, type 'exits' in a room and it will display all possible *visable* exits
or type config +autoexit to show them automatically every time you enter a room.

I do admit the starting academy needs some over hauling. I am going to code up a few small mobs for you to kill for people under level 5

yes it is pretty hard to start my mistake
but once you can get past that you shouldn't have to many problems.

sorry i haven't gotten around to updating a few things... getting back to uni and all.
excessive drinking and coding areas don't mix ... so don't blame me if there is some pretty weird areas I think I managed to delete lap dance land :-)

but I haven't been able to update new areas at the moment :-)... my ftp access misteriously disappeared :-)

it is a very neat windows program no messiness to it. few areas lacking but beats having to make areas by hand. you can do a lot with smaug code.

also you might want to know about MOB's MOBILES' the name monsters and anything that is design to display life in the game they are very easy to use. most of the progs are simple C and easy to pick up like the following snippets

it looks complicated but with the most basic knowledge you can make pretty good areas.

the only thing you need to know is the vnums :-)
but I can just re-edit all the vnums and move it around :-)

if you want to make a area for lost realms feel free... try and keep in with the style and humour never hurts and is often sought

its a great game and all but one of the turn-offs , i think is that in the shop in the city , you need to be level 10 to buy ... an iron dagger , which sounds kinda like a pretty basic weapon . when i type levels i can only see as far as 7 and thats 350k xp or something , so id say 10 would be say 1,300k xp! for a dagger then its another ten for next items and i even saw an iron shield u need to be lvl 50 to buy(thats almost immortal ffs) . thats like killing the dragon snake about 1500 times . and i suppose guards are out of the question to kill .

'Levels' will show you the next 5-10 levels the Xp required is generated based on your class and race.

level 50 is Avatar ... once you hit that you get promote to Immortallity in a big ceromny by the gods :-)

Well 'Iron' dagger is more than a basic weapon it is iron :-) prefect for backstabbing with.

yeah they level required to buy stuff are a downer I suppose. It's an effort to try and stop people buying things they can't use.
it's hardcoded in to the src .

well guards .. you'd are very strong.. they have to protect the city from ... all the bad elements :-)

use "con <target name>"
before hand to give you a clue as to whether you have a chance or not

eg 'con guard'
You are far more experienced than the guard.
I.e you are a higher level and should be able to take him

The guard would make a great teacher for you!
It would own your ass like an ass owning machine :-)

'con stray'
You are not nearly as experienced as a stray.
A stray looks weaker than you.

Beggars [3]
Dogs/Cats [5] ( you ever meet a rabid dog on the street?
HoundDogs [10]
Excutioner [50] hez part of a future quest :-)
Thief [8]

these are only a few of the mob's found in and around darkhaven town I won't cover anything else.

if you want to know where to go use
areas or zones <not sure which it is>

but that should show you valid zones to go to and give level range as well

those are rough guide lines....
but don't forget strenght in numbers...
you can form up into groups and attack mob's all at the same time. so say two lvl 4's join can attack somebody around lvl 6
