AMD 64 driver problems

I'm have this wonderfully desriptive printer error.

"System Error The document cannont be printed due to a system error"

Can't print from any app (have tried a load)

I've downloaded & re-installed the latest drivers from HP,

The Printer in question prints fine from my laptop.

I think I have the problem down to HPs not having driver support for AMD64 chips.

See the atached image - by default there are no installed drivers for AMD64 chips. When I try to install addition drivers - I'm asked to insert my WINxp disk, which I do but it does not load any drivers.

I've search the interweb high & low but cannot solve this. I've also been on to HP email support - litteraly they wasted my time.

    Any ideas.

it wouldnt be an amd64 error unless ur running a64bit OS.The amd64bit cpu's run in 32bit mode unless your using a 64bit OS like Windows XP 64.

DUnno about your problem tho. Printer set up correctly? plugged in yadadada. Drivers all ok etc?

    Hey B-K-DzR

Yeah Printer works fine on my laptop.

I've got the latest drivers from HP, both sets (full & basic) I've cleared the register before installing etc.

I must be a HP driver issue, as each time I installed the drivers & go through the setup, I get one page (the alignment page) out of the printer before the error become a constent.

U say it can't be a issue with AMD64 - what to you make of the attached image illustrating the different driver for each chip type ????

I find it highly unlikely (impossible really) that its a cpu error. Isnt that thing you attached to do with sharing? Ill be the first to admit that my knowledge of printers /drivers is limited. Especially on XP.

Sorry i cant be of more help.
