Ya should. Saw it in that store beside TBMC. 20 quid I think it was. Not sure if they still have it. But it's well worth it even if the first show is completely unwatchable. If you do get it check 1,2XU from the second show. Circle pit on the stage. Pure mayhem.

Haha. No. Coral Fang is meh at best, it's the 2 before it that are worth listening to, particularly Sing Sing Death House. In my eyes, Coral Fang only just about scrapes it in there as punk at all.

Also, I'm shock by the fact that the word "Fingers" cannot be found on this thread. Allow me to rectify that.

Stiff Little Fingers Stiff Little Fingers Stiff Little Fingers Stiff Little Fingers Stiff Little Fingers Stiff Little Fingers.

    That's better.

Also, the Dropkick Murphys, while not being Punk Rock, are sort of punk-ish and are definitely worth listening to, particularly the album "Blackout".

Also, I find it funny that someone mentioned AFI in this thread, so no doubt Busted will be added to the list shortly as well... There's no accounting for some people's tastes.....

  • Moderators, Music Moderators Posts: 6,525 Mod ✭✭✭✭dregin

Hey, let's agree now not to turn this into the "what is punk?" thread. Who cares about SLF, someone else wrote their music....makin them a boyband at best ;) only messin :P so yeah. It would probably be a good idea not to take the piss out of people's recommendations. Just let people go of and listen to the bands listed and let them make their minds up for themselves whether they like them or not.

    My two cents.
    Bernard

Exactly thats all this is. A list of bands to check out, its not a what is punk thread. theres a few of them around too though if you wanna Debate.
Just because someones not mentioned a band yet doesnt mean they suck, just means that they aint on someones playlist right now or they just arent into em

Hmmm, punk/hardcore? I think not. Although Dillinger are some force live.

Other bands (I've mentioned some of them in another thread) worth listening to are:
    - Wire
    - The Ex
    - Daisy Chainsaw
    - The Birthday Party (they'll always be punk to me)
    - early Joy Division (the later stuff was impossible to classify as punk but all of their work is incendiary)
    - The Ramones
    - The Sex Pistols
    - The Stooges
    - GG Allin
    - Dead Kennedys
    - Dwarves
    - Black Flag

Heh. Dillenger were my little bros first live experience. I was intent on making amends for my first being.....Robbie Williams! :p

    Would reccommend stuff like:
    Fugazi
    Minor Threat
    SLF
    AFI, earlier stuff
Distillers, don't care they all rock, Coral Fang included
    Green Day
    Black Flag
I would have considered Dropkick Murphys punk, and I'd include them
To a certain extent Blood or Whiskey
    Flogging Molly

There, plenty to get your anarchic side up and running!

    -Alexisonfire
    -36 Crazy Fists
    -Thrice
    -Taking Back Sunday
    -Brand New
    _Athornforeveryheart
    -Matchbook Romance

    -Senses Fail
    -Poison the Well
    -Shadows Fall

    Bit of a mixture there

Shadows Fall would have been more metal I would have thought.
Jetplane Landing. Anyone else like them?
