Right mate all you need to do is connect the modem to your motherboard if it has an ethernet connection but if it doesn't connect it using a usb port then connect it to the phone line and power. Then install the drivers that came with your modem and configure your account settings in the connection wizard. or else just insert the cd that came from utv although this may contain drivers for the utv modem it will also configure your account settings for you, then you could just install your new modem drivers afterwards or not at all.

If you're going the ethernet route you won't need drivers for the modem. What you need is to connect your PC with an ethernet cable to one of the modems ethernet ports. Put the dsl line into the line port (will only really fit there).

Check (at a dos prompt) use -> ipconfig/all and see did you get an IP address from the modem - should prob be something like 192.168.1.100 or 192.168.1.xxx - see what it says (if at all) is the default gateway - prob will be 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.1.2 . Put that address into a web browser and you shoudl get to the admin screen of the modem. Here you will have to put in the admin password (defaults are usually admin/admin or admin/password ).. then configure the modem using the password you DSL provider provided to you and the VLC / LLC settings etc. (LLC settings can be got from your provider as well)

If you don't have an ip address - check network connections (if windows) and make sure your lan conenction is set to "automatically obtain an IP address"...

There have been bucketloads of posts on this, dan - you need to enable port-forwarding on the router. This is probably in the "Virtual Server" section, but I don't use that router so I can't be sure.

STF, particularly the Broadband forum, and STW for more info. It might even be in the router's manual....?
