    Hi

Just wondering is the lottery system for the green card the only way to move over to the states. The reason why im asking is cause my gf is planning on going home next summer and im hoping to go with her, initially for 3 months.Shes from the boston area so what are the job prospects like around there.

    1. Marry her.

    2. Get student visa.

    3. Get a company to get you a visa.

    4. Go over for a holiday for 3 months. (Can't work)

You can't work without a visa.. or rather any work you do find will be pittance and your more likely to get shopped in to INS if you threaten to leave.

IT work is in the crapper since 2001. With foriengers/outsourcing having negative effects.

That is not to say you might not get a job. But for option 3 to work you either have to be working for a company in another country for 3 years at least, and/or have a skill that no one in the US has (job has to be advertised in advance).
