I'm from Cork Joe, but living up in Dublin now. What new casino is on the Mall? I know the Mccau moved from where it used to be, to McCurtain St. beside the Metropole as far as I know. The new premises are meant to be quite nice.

As for chips, if you want really really cheap chips, you can get a set of about 100 really flimsy plastic ones for about E10 in a little shop by the Matthews Centre, near Paul St. I'm not sure what the name of the place is, but it's either beside, or a shop or two away from Cashmans pub on Paul St. It's a little shop, full of little things. They sell chips in there. They also have a nice set for about E100, but to be honest I wouldn't invest in it. It's 100 chip set, and while it's nice, it's just not worth the money. If I were you, and you didn't want the really cheap ones, I'd buy online.

    The shop is called Pinnochio's.
Its a toy shop. They stock some nice clay chips too, but they are too expensive for what you get.
Buy online is the best thing.

By the way, the entrance for the Macau club is on Patricks Quay, just behind the Metropole.

Try contacting special days here in Dublin. I think they may be willing to post chips.

I know this thread is slightly out of date, but I thought some people might be interested to know that QV in Ballincollig are selling good quality chips (the 'dice' variety), 300 for e50. They come in a nice aluminium case and all. Seemed good value to me, considering I got a simliar set (no case) for 30STG off Drinkstuff.

QV is up behind the cinema, close to Aldi.

    Prices

Its amazing how prices for this stuff has changed. Our (Special Days) new prices (from today) are lower than the factory cost from exactly 12 months ago!

Cardinal Games have a strong line-up of basic chips that will be generally available in toy stores - mainly 7.5g 9g & 11.5g plastic / resin.

BTW watch Plasma TV's drop below €1,000 for brand name 36" within a month or two. Factory prices for unbranded are coming in at approx $500 before shipping, duty, vat etc.

It's on Patrick's Quay. If you drive along the quay, you'll see it on the right just before the turn onto Bridge street. There's a gym right beside it.

I've been there about half a dozen times without becoming a member. I just sign in, and away I go. I don't know if at some point, they're not going to ask me to become a member, but apparently it quick and easy and free anyway. Everybody can enter their tournies, and they usually have cash games for early outs too, if that's your thang.

All you need to become a member is some form of Id. eg. passport, drivers licence. Just say you want to sign up and give in your ID and you'll get it back with a membership card on the way out.
There are tournaments on every night these days bar Thursdays. There is details on the tournaments and cash games Here
