    Hi all,

    I just need to get this off my chest, im just back from a 2 month 1 week trip around the world...... Myself & a friend went to Prague, Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam, Singapore, Sidney, Auckland & NYC
    What a fantastic time, Living in Dublin & only going on crappy sun holidays e.g Spain, portugal, etc....
    It has opened my eyes to so many different cultures, countries, fantastic places to go & visit.... I cant wait until I go away again, Im in college at the mo which kinda sucks but its still good fun, Im heading back to thailand next summer for 3 months what a place, everyone is so nice there is always loads of plp to meet, its really really cheap... For once I can say the euro goes along way :)
    Sidney is such a beautiful place so relaxed. Its sad in a way because now I've seen a few places its proves to me that Dublin is such a hole & I shall never settle down here. I would love to see China & Japan....

    Anyways just getting it off, Thanks for reading. JoePC

    As Fletch said - give us an idea of cost.

    I am in the preliminary stages of planning a round the world trip - maybe not next summer, possibly the one after it.

    Thinking of London->Dubai->Hong Kong->Tokyo->Sydney->Auckland->Tahiti->Hawaii->US->Canada->Dublin
    (or something along those lines :D )

    Is my only option to go into a travel agent for such a trip? Or is there anywhere on the interweb that can quote me for such a flight.

    this is something i really have to do also, possibly in the next 12 months...
    want to go for 6mths at least, but really worried about having to start at the bottom of the career ladder again... need to get as much good experience before i go, so that i can avoid that. does anyone have any thoughs on this? i mean im gonna go and thats it like, but i would like to know how people think it should approached work wise.
    i suppose a real hardcore backpacker would never worry about such things!

    also whats the best way to do it - do i just walk into a travel agency and give them the places i wanna see and let them put together a package?
    or is there any websites that specialise in this? also how much cash is really needed... how far/long would 2K get me?? any info greatly appreciated...gotta get the ball rolling on this one!

    You should try Usit.ie as Lucy Lu stated - they currently have a package for about 1,500 Eurons that gets you all around the world.

    Be careful though, she might want to come with you ;)
