USB2 Notebook Cards - Qs

    Hey,

New to the USB2 thing but think this looks right for me:
    Belkin Card on Elara.

Thing is they give very little detail and the stupid Belkin website etc. arn't exactly full of information. So here's my 'so basic it isn't spelt out questions':

This other card spelt out all these things nicely for me (it's the wrong cardbus type - 3):
    1) Card is Hot swappable
    2) Card can run USB2 at 3 speeds (low-speed 1.5Mbps devices, full-speed 12Mbps devices and high-speed 480Mbps)

The Belkin one doesn't say this...any ideas? Does Plug n Play imply hot swapping afterwards?
Do all USB2 notebook cards run at whatever hardware speed is necessary?

I'm being careful here cos the last Firewire card I bought actually made the poor laptop go bang...apparantley something stupid like it couldn't handle the speed of the card.

    P.S. What's the difference in PCMCIA card-slot types? i.e. Why can't I buy type3?!

    Thanks in advance. :D
