Ok- I'm actually serious, this isn't a joke.

I'm in Portugal at the moment, and the house I'm staying in only has instructions for everything in Portuguese.

I've managed to figure out most of the appliances, but the washing machine, which appears to be a state of the art digital one, has me stumped.

    Its a Miele Novotronic W989

Please someone tell me how to turn it on........ and no, its not obvious!

    Thanks,

    SMcCarrick

Thanks for that vote of sympathy. :(

Washing machine has been sorted- ended up having to do a minor dissasembly job on it, Miele had offered to send a repairman out, but that would take a week, it was quicker to do it myself. Unfortunately it wasn't me not understanding the thing- there was a short in it, easily repairable, but annoying nonetheless.

NotMe- I've probably done more laundry in my time than you will ever imagine......

Sorry. But I couldn't help it. You just gave the impression of someone who had never used a washing machine in their life. Anyway, it was just a joke. :D

    Alls well that ends well.
I guess we're lucky this particular machine never made it over to our shores- you have to put in the water hardness, the temperature gradient, the time of the cycle and and ship load of other info into the machine (in French) before it will work. The French language setting beat the Portuguese one :)

    Thanks folks,

    S.
