Faroe Islands ?

I am planning on going to the Faroe Islands for Ireland's QC qualifier in June 2005.
    Has anyone been there?.
The game will be on in Tórshavn, (the capital 'town') I presume. The few hotels in the place are already full, and there seems to be a number of guest houses and B&B around there also. Has anyone got first hand experience of the place? Tips and ideas greatly appreciated.

I have not looked at the flights yet, you can get there from London, Aberdeen, Copenhagen, Olso, Bergin etc. Here is a good overview of how you can get there.

random bit of useless information: the faroese language is pretty similar to icelandic, but it sounds close to irish.

Had a quick look yesterday, you are looking at €830 +from Aberdeen to Faroe Islands on June 6th to 9th, €400 if you go June 6th to 13th, both with Atlantic Airways. It the costs about €75 to get to Aberdeen with Ryanair.

From Copenhangen you are talking €670 June 7th to 9th, and €416 June 7th to 12th, no idea how much it costs to get to Copenhangen from Ireland thought.

    The game is June 8th.

Just noticed the 8th is a Wednesday! That rules me travelling out (well unless I take a long deserved holiday!)
