    Right heres the thing,

Got offered a new job today and seeing that this country is slowly decending into a veritable cesspool i have decided to act on my instinct and take it.

The only problem is that its in the BLOODY SHETLAND ISLANDS

now dont get me wrong, im sure its a lovely place, and from what i've heard the islanders are great people, but what i want to know is, have i done myself any favours? what the bloody hell is there to do there? has anybody actually ever been there? if so, whats it like? and more to the point, are the local female population sultry norse vixens, or are they battle hardened viking berzerkers?

thx in advance for any info

Ponies, puffins, Northern Lights and shops that close at 1700 :)

They have 4 banks, The Bank of Scotland, The Royal Bank of Scotland, The Clydesdale Bank, and Lloyds TSB so make sure you're with one of them.

I'd say "yeah". Go for it. If you don't like it you can always head back, but there's nothing like getting ouut of Ireland to get a different look at things.

    Check out this page.

I used to work up there in Sullom Voe - fcuking depressing place. It's nice in the summer apparently, but be prepared for a serious lack of daylight in the winter. Some people don't mind that but I'm not one of them.

I'd say it sucks donkey balls, but I suppose it is an experience as well...
