i deeply disliked chris evans because after a while on tfi all he did was bring on his friends and talk about they got rat arsed the previously week so did dunphy so too does parkinson.... so i come home and see tom cruise on parky and then look at the paper to see who he has got on and to note that its changed to utv...
and who's on but billy connelly???? he's great love him very funny stayed and watched it but come on! he brings him on atleast once every series... and talks about how well they know each other and they used to be alcoholics together... i don't care

then he does a "parkinson" and ask a question about scientology to cruise saying how most people think its for madmen, cruise is annoyed, says thats a bigoted opinion, parky says but im just conveying a viewpoint that when people talk of scientology they say mad cult, cruise says well they don't say that to me....

then of course you have "the interview" and tom even said it that every time he been interviewed by parky he ask the same questions... you could find an interview from about ten years ago and he had asked the same questions about his parents and being dyslexic (tom made some good points about over- medication of children, though)....

all big name interviews ask the same old questions

I think you answered one of your questions. The reason they always ask the same types of questions is that when more insightful questions than "what is your next movie" are asked the guests, particularly the Tom Cruise types tend to get pissed off, throw a massive hissy fit backstage and most likely refuse to ever go on that show/network/country again.

I am sure lots of people would love to know what the attraction with scientology is, as far as I can tell it is even more ridiculous bull than most religions/colts and that is some achievement.
L Ron Hubbard the creator of the scientology cult was a complete lunatic and a long time scam artist, there are a few documentaries about him that are well worth a watch. How he came up with the whole thing is absolutely hysterical, how anyone buys into it is beyond me. But then most of the celebrities involved are borderline retarded anyway.

perhaps but parki really didn't put it oot him very well he used to many negative adverbs to desrcibe it... he could have brought the subject up moe gently given the stock cruise obviuosly holds in scientology.. not that im a fan of it

he's always like that... he always laugh like hes having a heart attack i think thats just him... the american way.. the platitudes, the forever complimenting his fellow actors, injecting to say how inspired he is by kelly holmes....

he seems like a nice guy

I think you must be misinformed, Cruise's interview last night was his 1st ever full british TV interview.
all big name interviews ask the same old questions
I wouldn't say that. I thought it was quite a successful interview. He got Cruise to talk about his father and his home life. And he never talks about them. He also critically questioned him on his religion and got him to do impressions of cartoon charcacters!!

I agree about Tom Cruise being OTT with his admiration for Kelly Holmes etc, and I thought he was quite clearly unhappy with the questions Parky asked about his family, Nicole etc. I think that could be because the Americans are so used to three or four minute interviews (and I use the term loosely there) with the likes of Jay leno or David Letterman where the most probing question is "when is the new movie released?"

Billy Connolly, meanwhile, had me in stitches, and although it is true that Parky has him on at least once a series, isn't it just great value for money? He's hilarious, and long may Parky continue with having him on.

What did everyone think of the ITV set up then? I'm fairly pleaased the set and tone of the show hasn't really altered.. I was half expecting a big ITV frenzied audience piece of dumb downed Parky.
