This router here looks like the business.

It has a four port switch built in, does NAT, has a firewall, does everything i can think i'd need (i only have 2 computers at the moment). Is this a good buy, or is there something missing/bad about this router?

I have it and it disconnects every now any then (very random can go 2-3days fine then other times disconnect twice with in an hour. Seems completely random. Haven't sorted it out yet.

It has only 20 options for port forwarding under Virtual Server, which could pose trouble it you need to forward anymore than that, this is especially true as you can't enter port ranges ie 6881-6999

There way around this is to use Trigger Ports for applications, there are only 10 of these.

Has DMZ(Demilitarized Zone), if all else fails but prefere to leave some stuff closed myself.

It also came with a 2pin plug and an adaptor that heats up a lot.

Overall its not great, but I have only the IOL router to compare it too. There is certainly a lot more options and features on it, if i could sort this random disconnecting I'd be happy.

Checked the net before and it seems I'm not the only one with this problem, I haven't tried to fix it lately as don't have time and as it only happens the odd time, so you never know if you fixed it unless it randomly disconnects again. Looking at it now the only thing I didn't try was changing the MTU.

Ok, sounds like something i should be avoiding. Anyone else care to recommend one that costs less than 50EUR, or a similar costing one that justifies the extra money?

Wireless or wired, it doesn't matter. But i will be needing at least 4 ethernet ports on the router.

personally, the first thing i tried was this. But after 6 pages i gave up and made a new thread.

There are loads of threads about wireless ones, but i don't want/need a wireless one.
