Mods please don't remove it! let it stay a while please!

do you get always yellow when you are running BT?

or is it green(indicating everything is alright), but just doesn't download fast?

how to detect your ports are being blocked? I get green on my BT and my mule connects with with highID - but sometimes, when I look into my dl'd details, it says passive on some remote clients

    I have 1 meg connection

and I'm getting like 56-70 <- rarely on BT

    I didn't couldn't go over 48 on mule

Its down to router settings. There's a thread on this forum somewhere detailing the correct settings for a Bittorrent pinhole, if you do a search.

I don't think it has anything to do with the ISP if you're getting slow(!) speeds, it might just be the torrent. The fastest torrents I get, generally at full speed, are from torrents on Eurogamer.net - yet the smilie face stay yellow throughout.

Yes. If you allow the torrent client to use 100% of possible uploads speeds then it'll be actually download slower than at 80%. Also it let's you surf at the same time :)

I guess that if you're seeing yellow/green lights then you're using Azereus?
If so then 80% is the default setting.
If you are asking yourself: "Why do I only get yellow smilies now with the new version when I got green ones before?" then here is a possible solution to that:

Go to View>Configuration>Plugins>UPnP and ensure that the Enable UPnP box is unticked. This should sort that problem out.
