Case and Memory Questions

    Hi folks,

    First The Case:::

    Am updating my case and powersupply and have got my eyes on the Antec Sonata. My only problem with it is the lack of motherboard pan. Has anyone got this case and is it much of a problem not having the pan.

    Can anyone recommend another good/better CASE W Power Supply around 350w?

    Memory:::

    I have two 256meg TwinMOS 3200 TwiSTER CL2 chips on board.

    I wanted to add another 512 chip and am currently eyeing up some Crucial 3200 BallistiX DDR 512 CL2.

    Do folks see any problem introducing this 512 chip in with the TwinMOS stuff?

    The Ballistix can be seen at:

    The TwinMOS can be seen at:
    http://komplett.ie/k/ki.asp?sku=120095&cks=PRL

    The only difference i can see is the Ballistix has a higher supply voltage at 2.8v while the TwinMOS has a supply voltage of 2.5v

    Help in this matter would be greatly appreciated....

    cheers

    I have the Sonata case, its easy to put everything into (gets more difficult when your throwing in watercooling mind u). Its a lovely case, very quiet and the PSU is great. Check out my sig to see everything i have running on it. Bare in mind my CPU's voltages are upped (1.65V) to get that overclock too, my graphics card and soundcard take power from it aswel. The +12, +3.3 and +5 are all perfect!

    I'm not sure on the RAM, i dont know too much about it. What i do know, is that if u add another stick which inst the same, then it will run at the speeds of the slower one. So theres no point in buyin a stick better then the twister stuff, cos the other stick will just run the same as another 512 of twister. Twister isnt bad stuff though. I think thats how it works anyway....

    Well all the RAM is going to run at 2.8v then. The other RAM should be ok at this voltage but you should check it out first. Also check all the timings to make sure they are the same.

    Why not just get a 512stick of the same RAM.

    The difference in voltage would be a big problem. You can't supply a 1 ram slot with 2.8 and the other 2 with 2.5. The twinmos wil have to run at 2.8. I don't know how well twinmos handles higher voltage.

    You should stick with the same brand of ram, try and get another 512 Twister.

    To my surprise Jes-Computer have the 512 chip, so i think ill order that.

    Its at http://www.jes-computer.de/product_info.php?pID=14210

    Think its just one module, image of it would say otherwise but the blurb says nothing about two modules.

    Thanks all...

    They sell the twister in a 1024mb matched kit...i'd say they just use the one picture.
