Got all the stuff i ordered from jes today, including a Xp 2500+ Mobile.
Had to build system for my bro before i could get ocing my own pc, that done i powered mine up after rebuilding it.
It boots fine at 200X12.5, which would be 2.5ghz, but no os installed yet so i dont know how stable it is.
Once windows is installed i'll see how long its prime stable.

Drop it back to stock speeds until the OS is installed. I can get through bios and all that on a heavily overclocked standard 2500+, but as soon as it hits windows, it borks.

To save yourself hassle, leave it on stock speeds, then overclock when you can run Prime95 to test the stability. Theres nothing worse than being 90% of the way through a windows install, only to get corruption due to a massive overclock, and having to restart from the beginning.

EDIT: damn you aswell! I only found out how good the 2500M's were after i ordered my 2500 :(

Oh yea deffinatly. With my old 2500+ it wouldn't even boot at them settings, so an improvement already.

Post with some more results later tonight

i'm definately going to go for the dual barton m setup once I'm finished working away. not had time to get it done yet though.

how fast are the barton m's up to now? they must be selling faster than 2500+ by now, those little buggers have been out ages.

i was thinking about an amd 64, but i like the idea of a super fast duallie rig.

    damn HalfLife 2!

    making me indecisive.

just seen this on the amd website: AMD Athlon™ 64 Processor: Now available in Model 3700+, 3400+, 3200+ and 3000+ for desktop replacement notebooks.

just have to wait for them to bring out dual a64 mobo's now. :D

    Got windows installed incl prime95.

Have it running stable at 12.5X200, had to increase the voltage a bit to 1.76 volts (mbm5).
Running prime now so far stable for the last 15 mins, temp is at 40celcius (again thats what mbm5 says).
Happy anyway, much better over clock than my old barton 2500+.

Will run prime again in the morning to see how long it will last.

Have prime running for the last 2 hours so far no errors.
Like my previous post settings are the same, temp max 46 so far (i slowed down the cpu fan a little.)
Also flashed my 9800pro to Xt, works fine.
Played do no boter no crashes.
Next i might increase the fsb to over 200mhz but i might run into problems with my ram (mushkin basic green pc 3200)

Would dual cpu be as fast as a 64 bit? 2X32bit chips? Sounds interesting to say the least.
