plug in the mouse, press connect on the reciver, then on the mouse.

    Thats standard procedure!

hmm don't have the same mouse but did have the same problem.
Try move the reciever away from other electrical devices, worked for me.

Also if it's optical some mouse pads confuse them, like the black and grey dell ones' grr

FFS Jammer, if you have nothing useful to contribute then STFU. This post is nearly as bad as the one you told me to go and learn how to use Google.

Bombidol - make sure the batteries are brand new. Is it bluetooth or a propietary wireless type?

If it's not bluetooth, then do as Draíochta said - move it away from things like microwave ovens, TV Digisenders, baby monitors, etc.

Its USB Wireless, but its not near any other wireless stuff. My bedroom is a recording studio too so its kinda hard to keep it away from electrical stuff, at the moment its sitting on top of a massive pair of speakers

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 89 ✭✭Draíochta

    Yes same with me
First I had mine on the PC tower, then beside the mouse, then beside a speaker, finally I put it on the ground, it's logitechs mx700, have had no problems since except I don't like the reciever on the ground. Works great, I use it for games!
You only need about 8" for my one at least.

    Please explain?

I just told him what 99% of wireless mouse manuals have in them. I consider that usefull.

And you gave me a bad rating for it? Nice one

Don't think it's wise to sit it on a pair of speakers what with all those electromagnetic thingies . That could be the problem for you.

I know it sounds silly but try using the mouse on a different mouse mat or atleast a SINGLE color surface area..

I have a Logitech MX700 and it skipped all over the place on my old Dell logo Mat. got a cheap €5 job from a store and everything was fine..... also make sure the mouse is holdin a full charge, mine does mad things when the batteries are runnin low...

    Good Luck

    Misty

u can use optical on any surface as long as it doesnt reflect?

I dont use a mousemat at all...good ol' wood on the desk does me. I've an MX700 too, great mouse.

Mistmyr is right about the dell mouse pad, the surface dose matter, certain things such as repeated patterns or solid colour will effect performance, wood is good cause it's irrigular.

Speaker is what the problem is, lets us know what happens when you move it away.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,513 ✭✭✭Sleipnir

Actually, you can get the new MX1000 (which uses "lasers") for about that price now.
    Cool.

€70 excluding del, but you get the keyboard as well.

Good but you have to want it, got a microsoft mouse for work off them for €13, actually prefere it! Keyboard is good but the keys are wrong, Y and Z are in the wrong place, had to take it apart to change them, has more inside thatn you would think!
Also all the symbols are in the wrong place, ok if you know where they are, but I forgot about my wife, she rings me up to ask me how to type a '?' (he he).

WOW that's a nice mouse, wish i had of held out, although I think the mx700 is over the top, still wish i'd held out.

    €60 on jes
    Sh!t

I got the Cordless MX Dektop....bought it in ITDirect on Parliment st....didn't need anything else on jes/komplett at the time so just bought it in there. Nice keyboard with it too. Think it was 125 or something.

That link above to jes is a GERMAN keyboard. I don't see it says english anywhere on it so i'd presume it is. That being a german shop, and german keyboard layouts differ iirc.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 89 ✭✭Draíochta

That's what I was saying Jammer, the layout is German, Y and Z are mixed around but the rest of the letters are fine, all the symbols are mixed up, so not a good buy if you don't know your way around the keyboard, like my wife.

p.s. I switched the letters around (Y and Z) but you have to be careful, there are lots of extra wires.

They had german keyboards in work for the german members of our team and its more than just the z and y mixed up.

I said only those two letters, am I wrong? ALL the symbols are mixed up, all of them!

I wonder is that mouse working yet.

Think they are just the letters that are mixed up...the ", @, !, % etc etc are probably in different places?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,513 ✭✭✭Sleipnir

okay lads okay. The worlds not ending or anything.

On a happier note, I just ordered an MX1000. Hopefully it's not the upside-down german model.

Jammer could be on to something with the frequencies though. Generally (or on my cheapo lidl one at least) there's 2 seperate channels each with about 256 ids. I had similar problems but I found that by changing the channel and resynching a few times they went away. Thinking about it now, only changing the channel should have made any real difference but for some reason changing the ID's did too

You can probably find it on the manufacturers website. That'll tell you how to change the channels etc

does that not annoy the **** out of you. having to think every time you want to quote something? or type an email address?

    I'll have to clarify this
I got out my philips, and took it apart. Hence watch the wires, it's all hunky dory and I know where all the symbols are on the keyboard.
Better if I had of bought a english set up keyboard, but saved a bit.
