Your audio drivers arn't installed. PCI multimedia audio device is what Windows calls an audio device (aka sound card) in the device manager when it cannot find the drivers for it. In other words, Windows doesn't have the drivers and you are going to have find them and install them.

Download the drivers or install them if you have them on CD.

how do i find out what drivers i need i dont know the name of the sound card or the serial controller

If you had any idea of the sound card you could get them here. If your computer is from a company like Packard Bell the sound card wil be the same make.

The surest way to confirm the sound card is to open your PC and read the make and model directly from the sound card. It may be that the sound card is integrated into the motherboard. If this is the case get the motherboard details and a little further research will be required.
