Zip Drive

Having trouble with my external zip drive!

I used it with one of the computers in my youth hostel and for some reason all programs on computer stalled when i tried to open my files on my 100MB disc in that computer.

the next day i tried my 250MB disc in work in zip drive and it worked but the 100MB didn't! then a few days later I tried the 250mb disc again in work and it wouldn't work. I checked to see if the drive was working and it said it wasn't so i updated the driver. my discs still won't work and the drive sounds like it is faulty!

What is wrong, is it the discs or the drive? What should I do? I have so much stuff on these discs! I am so mad!

    Please help me!!

I would find another computer with a zip drive and try to back them up first. If this works without hassle then the discs are fine, it's probably the drive. Are these discs old? Maybe they need replacing...

As for the drive.. a good old uninstall/reinstall tends to clear small bugs out

sounds like the drive is screwing up your disks. Call iomega and get a replacement.

    Hiya!
The discs are about 1-2 years old! Don't think there are any PC's at work with a Zip Drive!

Is it possible to uninstall an external zip drive?

    Cheers

you need the serial number of the drive which is usually underneath. They can tell you if it's in warranty.

oh, if their system says that your drive is out of warranty you might have to fax in a proof of purchase so do what I do and make one up!
