Anyone here like Channel 4 comedy-drama 'Teachers'?

Have watched it since Day 1 - seems to be getting good enough ratings on TV3 right now.

Show started to go downhill after Andrew Lincoln (Simon) left... but then the geniuses that were Brian and Kurt emerged and made some hilarious episodes in that last season.

They're currently filming a new season for broadcast in November, with a Christmas special also... but i've only learned in the last few minutes that Brian and Kurt (and also Matt) have left the show and will not be in it this season.

    Very disappointing!! :(

Brian and Kurt have left?!?!?! They're what made the last season watchable when Simon wasn't there! That's dreadful news. I'm not sure I'd want to watch the new season now - who is going to be in it ?

There was also a rumour Bob left but he's still in it, as far as i know!

They had a picture of all the new cast in 'Heat' magazine last week apparently.

They've three new male teachers: Ewan (Lee Williams), Ben (Matthew Horne) and Damien (Daon Broni).

This interview with Navin Chowdhry (Kurt) just proves that Kurt and Brian have left:

Will there be another series (of Teachers)?
They are filming as we speak, but I am not in it, all us lads have left. So I am not in it, Andy Lincoln is not in it, Adrian Bower who played the PE teacher is not in it and James Lance who played Matt isn't in it either, but they will get new lads in and the girls are still there so it will be different, but they have the formula now so I guess it all works.

I really liked Teachers and wasn't going to watch it after Simon left but then came Brian & Kurt. Class act

In fact, I think Simon tried too hard when he came back in and wasn't as good.

It's a pity they won't be in the new series but give it a go and see what the new crowd are like

Brian & Kurt were my favourite parts of the show. I didn't like Season 1 that much because it was way too Simon-focused but when it started drawing in the periphery characters with their individual neuroticisms in seasons 2 & 3 it became fab.

Teachers has been strong enough so far to withstand character reshuffles but I think this time it will prove too much and the show is about to flop :( Are Brian & Kurt definitely out of the Christmas special as well? :(
