Renting with pets

A dog-walking friend is about to lose his south county Dublin home (landlords are putting the house up for auction). He's finding it impossible to get a place to rent because he has a dog. Are there any estate agents that specialise in pet-owners or anything?

It's silly isn't it? When we first moved to Ireland we had a terrible job trying to find a place that would accept us with our elderly cat of nearly 14 years! We found a place in the end, but even then the landlord (who himself had both a cat and a dog!) was dubious about the whole thing. In my experience anyway, it's the owners who mess up rental properties more than any animal could.

We rented our place through http://www.terriedunne.com who are mainly in Bray, but do have other places closer to Dublin. Good luck!
