i was wondering does anyone know when is the best age to get a tattoo. i have been told 18 cause you have stopped growing and there is less chance of your tattoo being distorted. does any one know for sure?

I would suggest that you will know when you are ready..reasons

1/ when it is legal and an artist will actually tattoo you
2/When you know you want one and dont have to ask strangers, fads are a funny thing when you are young, tattoos are not fads.

This is up there with how much does it hurt and where should I get pierced, it is very subjective.

18 being the legal age but also a good age for your state of mind,a tatoo is a big step, you get a tattoo for life(well you can get it removed but thats a whole loada hassle, money and your not gauranteed all the tattoo will be removed).Be very careful before you decide to get a tattoo.Im 19 and ive been thinking for the past year on whether to get a tatoo or not and i still havent decided
