I want to put some music from my minidisc player onto my laptop to mp3. I have tried a few of the free programs on downloads.com but they all produce a lot of noise when I play them back. Im only using the line out from the minidisc to the line in on the laptop. What is the best free program to use? I would like something that would produce a really good quality recording.

    Thanks

What program are you using chief?

    I find MusicMatch pretty good.

I suspect that the static is caused by something else. What quality of lead are you using for the connection? Get yourself a high quality one. Make sure it's not near anything that can cause interference like a mobile phone, television, microwave...

It has been a while since I tried it now. I deleted the programs that I was using because they were all crap. The lead is just a standard 3.5mm lead. Im downloading musicmatch now. Will see waht that is like, hopefully it will be ok. Thanks fre
