    The RAM is going to kill him. 256M is barely enough for simple Word and interweb browsing. At least your friend can upgrade that when it arrives. I would say everything else is fine.

    he needs the wi-fi wireless stuff, but other than that, feel free to recommend something better. This will have to last a few years, and i am Extremely worried about the ****e CPU in it.

    Even the likes of PCWorld (pardon my French) do 802.11g cardbus cards for €49...

    Where is he getting it from? Probably PCWorld or something like it. Tbh it is crap value for money and as posted before, Aldi/Lidl/Dell would have better offers. Pretty good deals also at jes - check them out!
