Thinking about getting a 12-inch iBook from the apple store, but noticed you can get a reduction in price if you're a student. It seems easy enough, I'm just wondering if I'm missing some leg-breaking clause or something.

Anybody bought from apple this way before? I'm scared of things that make stuff I want cheaper ;)

Yea - I bought my powerbook this way. No there are no catches, but what is strange is that apple never asked for proof that I was a student so I could of easily been a fat and balding 42 year old milkman!

Bought my PowerBook (and a few other bits and pieces) with the education discount in May. No catches, no need for proof of student status (although I'm a full time MA student, so it wouldn't have been a problem). Good thing is you also get to avail of whatever offers Apple have going, so I got €99 cash-back on a HP printer, on top of the edu discount.

Yep, great service really. And at the moment you can get ?200 off an iPod if you buy it with any Apple laptop as a student. Great offer really, cause thats on top of the iPod's educational price. I'm just a small pit pissed cause i only bought a PowerBook in mid May and i want a cheap iPod :(
