yup, there should be a little "speaker" icon on the buttom right of your screen,if you single click it you can adjust volume or mute the sound of your PC

do you mean like a motherboard beep or a windows beep?

    if its the motherboard
you could first try the program you use to burn the dvd,
it may have an option to beep whenever something is finished
and secondly you could see if there are settings in your bios setup to stop it (moterboard) beeping,

you could also try any software you got with your dvd burner it may have that option also..
