Right, I need a new guitar amp cos I've been using this crap 10W amp for 2 years now. I'm tempted to buy the Marshall MG50dfx but I've been looking at the Roland Cube 60 and that looks pretty sweet too. Any suggestions?

I have a cube 30 and it's pretty good, the effects aren't that great, i never use amp effects anyway prefere pedals. This Marshall is real nice...

This is also a really nice amp and it's around the price of the Cube 60

I'd take the Laney over the Marshalls tbh. The MG series isn't great and the AVT ain't the greatest amp ever. Probably too expensive for you, but you should look at ENGL combos

Thanks for those links Fusion251. I haven't heard of Laney before, are they a decent make yeah?

Feylya, is that Engl all valve? It is a bit expensive... maybe my next next amp will be a valve amp :D I'll probably go for valvestate for now and around 500euro.

Also, the amps on that site are a bit overpriced aren't they?

Hey, yeah Laney are a great make, i've used them a good bit...I had a go of that amp before it's really nice. The site is actually pretty good on most things price wise maybe not on amps though, not sure.

    Cheers

They are. Slightly expenisve but seem to be worth it. I always thought the amps were quite cheap on that site.

Don't man. Don't get a Valvestate. They are soft poo. Just because it has Marshall on the front doesn't mean it's a good amp, especially in the case of a Valvestate. Check out Peaveys, Laneys, Fender whatever. Just don't waste your money on a poxy valvestate. See reason.

Oh yeah I wasn't talking about the Marshall valvestate. I meant any kind of amp that has a valve preamp. It would be better than all solid state and cheaper than all valve, wouldn't it?

Have a look for a second hand Fender Roc Pro, they don't make them anymore, but they had a valve overdrive channel and a solid state clean channel. Beautiful sounding amp and loud as **** too. I got one in Buy and Sell for £250 a few years ago.

Or you could look at the Vox amp I have for sale in the link above, which is solid state clean channel, valve driven distortion channel, and a lucious tremelo too.

The tremelo and channels are switchable. And it beats the pants off any Valvestate(which actually is what you're talking about). Have used it to record and gig with. It's got a Celestion Blue Bulldog speaker in it, which you won't find in any Marshall for a reasonable price.

Ehh, no actually... maybe I said the wrong word but I meant any valve/solid-state hybrid.(valvestate/ transtube/ whatever).

I've done a bit of research on that Vox amp and it's gotten a lot of not so great reviews so I think I'll pass.

    Fair enough.
Reviews are always right I suppose.

+1 for that fender amp suggested my Herr Dokter J, was jamming tonight and the other guitarist has a 100W one and it's a very nice amp

Ok I'm liking this Fender amp:
    http://www.netzmarkt.de/thomann/thoiw6_fender_fm212r_egitarrencombo_prodinfo.html?sn=d5853e9adb8f1ac600229e0a0794d459
it's very cheap for what you get, seems more than powerful enough for me plus it's stereo

    then there's this Laney one:
    http://www.netzmarkt.de/thomann/thoiw6_artikel-166923.html?sn=e9f94ef0e165f6ceb3d78cb119b61023
valve preamp, celestion speaker, programmable effects

    and finally this Laney amp:
    http://www.netzmarkt.de/thomann/thoiw6_laney_lc15r_egitarrencombo_prodinfo.html
15W valve amp. Actually I think I'll go for this one. I'd like to get a valve amp. Plus I want a portable amp and this is only 10kg.
I'm *almost* certainly gonna buy this. :)
