European team: Padraig Harrington (Ireland), Sergio Garcia (Spain), Miguel Angel Jimenez (Spain), Darren Clarke (Britain), Lee Westwood (Britain), Thomas Levet (France), Paul Casey (Britain), David Howell (Britain), Ian Poulter (Britain), Paul McGinley (Ireland), Luke Donald (Britain) and Colin Montgomerie (Britain).

Monty as expected a wild card along with Luke Donald who has had some considerable success on the US tour.
U.S. team (finalised after this month's U.S. PGA Championship): Tiger Woods, Phil Mickelson, Davis Love III, Jim Furyk, Kenny Perry, David Toms, Chad Campbell, Chris DiMarco, Fred Funk, Chris Riley, Jay Haas and Stewart Cink.

The team for Europe is'nt the most powerful but they always punch above thier collective weight.

    Mike.

Its a pity Freddy Jakobsen isnt in the team. He is the fourth highest ranked European and didnt make the team. The couple of weeks he took off for the birth of his child has cost him.

Would prefer to see him in there before Poulter as Poulter hasnt been playing well all summer.

Monty will add much needed experience to the team and we all know he loves beating the yanks! Donald has played the collegiate circuit and the US Tour so he wont have any problems he is also a great matchplay player as he prooved in the walker cup. I reckon the Europeans can do it again
