    Is it still usual for solicitors to get the clsoing balance by bank draft (their fee+ amt ousttanding after deposit + mortgage), or is electronic transfer generally acceptable

    I imagine electronic transfer is acceptable, lots of messing with drafts these days (forged, lost, stolen, etc.), not something you want with a few hundred k.
