Dodgy Cable Provider!!!

    Quick Question to you all!

A friend of mine has just moved into a new house in Closilla.... She Has this cool cable TV provider (can't remember the name she give me).
But she has the following channels
    RTE 1, Net2, TV3, TG4
    BBC1, BBC2, BBC3, UTV, CH4, Five
Sky 1, E4, Nick, Reality TV, MTV
    Sky News, Discovery, Discovery H&L
Sky Sports 1, Sky Sports 2.

Me thinks that this is a bit dodge and they are not licenced. Here are a few more points.
    1) Cost: first 6 months free then €17 per month (very good for sky sports, etc)
    2) She rang up the number on a flier to get it
    3) Analogue system
    4) Includes Five which haven't got any rights to distribute in Ireland.
    5) Channels are relayed from Sky Digital (sometimes you see the digital bar....and you see the interactive icon on-screen)

Thought somebody can shed light on this... Are there other areas in the country that have this?
I have heard of private systems doing this, but not a commercial set-up.

There are a number of unlicenced cable networks (no Im not on about deflectors) still operating in Ireland (mostly in smallish towns)

Whatever it is it doesnt seem to be legit

Nevertheless it sounds a damn sight better than official cable operations assuming they dont do a sudden disappearing act after being paid a yars sub in advance or something
