Peoples Photography exibition around St Stephan's green over the weekend. Anyone can display their photos (have to sign up for a space though!)

It's going on over this Saturday and Sunday, worth seeing from what I've heard about it (if you like looking at photos that is).

Don't worry, Jim. There are going to be nearly 200 exhibitors this weekend from what I've been told. There'll be plenty to see.

had a look round this evening twas about 30? different people displaying...

the luas was bit of distraction but i bet never so many pcitures were taken of one event :)

firstly I WAS IN A PHOTO :) hehehe

me reading something out on mayday.. with dozens of cameras pointed at me... *blush*

i was too shy to say anything to anybody who i thought might be on here too, merrion were you at the corner beside the gate if so i love your monk holding the spire photo:)

theres was two photos of the mir cats in dublin zoo :/

i' LOVED the photos printed on canvas so lush...

loved the photo of all the dads with kids waiting outside a shop in town

liked the photos done by the girl where she had warped and twirl flowers a bit, a risky thing to do think she pulled it off...

like the photos done in four parts...

hated any photos of old women with wrinkles

saw a good few photos thinking hey i snapped that too

reflections in building, lamp post reflected in buildings(the same lampost im sure), shoes hanging on wire opposite aungier street.. and more....

did anyone have that one with the pics from africa coming up to asking you to buy em for charity?

got bored of the pictures of statues...

liked your mans big colourful texture photos...

the americans loved the protests photos but were voting for kerry :(

i would look at the photos and then look at the person who took em...

Sold 5 prints which nearly broke even - including the Sandymount strand fish-eye triptich which was a bonus.

Congrats on selling some prints, merrion.
I wasn't able to make it in either day, which i'm kinda annoyed about.
Hope it went well for everyone involved.

    Hi all...

I think the weekend was a real success all round. There was a lot of great talent on display, some really sound folk to talk to (hiya, Merrion ;-), I some some pics and the weather wasn't really too bad at all (mind you, I don't think the Derry (?) guy over by the Luas thought so when his frames went sailing on gusts of wind on Sunday...)

Managed to sell 8 in all, much better than last year's 2. Had a lot of interest from many folks which was a boost to the old confidence. Yes, my cat pic did catch peoples' eyes, but the spooky forest and fog pictures where what most people went for.

Those canvas print pics were really cool, might be an idea for next year. Those were by a guy from my work, must get the details.

[Loads of ideas for next year now, must get back out and do more shooting. I'm off to Lake Garda, Italy next week, so some scenic landscapes will be the order of the day at least.]

    Cheers,

    B.

Yeah - where can you get prints done on canvas?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 657 ✭✭✭Benster

Canvas prints - some place in Ballsbridge, about 30 euro each from what I can remember. I'll find out exact details soon.
