Hi can anyone help me out and tell me if it's possible to get NTL digital in stereo? If so why do I need to do to enable this?

Apologies if this topic has been covered before I did a search but didn't come across anything. If it has been covered a friendly point in the right direction would be appreciated.

    Cheers! :D

It's in stereo by default, however I remember reading that it came up on someones TV as mono (through the info button), is this what happened to you?

Yeah, NTL Digital and Sky Digital I thought comes in Mono by default - you've got to tweak if you want stereo sound ... or am I dreaming all this???

    No tweaking required.

If the boxes ntl: or sky are connected (to a stereo TV obviously) by a scart lead then it is recieving stereo sound. If you are tuning the box (do any ntl boxes have rf modulators?) in through the RF lead then it is mono.

The indicator on your TV is only for NICAM stereo which is a system used to broadcast encoded stereo for analogue terestrial and cable transmissions. The output from the boxes is just plain old two channel stereo the same as an audio device, it is better quality than NICAM.

Cheers! Thanks for all the replies! It was the lack of the Nicam info that was throwing me! :o
