    Wow, gotta feel for Loretta Harrop, she looked so good for gold on the bike and for the first 4-5k of the run - I stopped watching at that point (damn work!), and can't believe that she didn't hold onto it.

    It's the Olympics and people don't get what they deserve - I thought Smet would nick a well deserved bronze as the Americans were looking weak (Taormina looking surprisingly tired during that cycle race).

    What's with the lack of teamwork in the peloton? Crazy! I suspect the mens race will have a different type of cycle leg...

    Results

    I was watching this up to the start of the 10 km and I though Harrop was looking good. I really thought that the big group had fallen too far behind to make it up during the 10k. But I was wrong

    The winner had been joint tenth at the end of the cycle, and still took gold. That must have been some run
