Thomas St to airport - Friday afternoon

    Here's the deal:

I have a 4:55pm flight on Friday from Dublin airport-Frankfurt with Lufthansa. I can leave work around 2pm, but would like to stay as late as possible (2:30pm?). I work up in the Guinness Enterprise Centre off Thomas St., right beside the Guinness Storehouse.
I wonder if anyone has any ideas on how to get to the airport in time to check-in AND get there for a cheap as possible. Bearing in the mind the traffic on a Friday afternoon.
The three options I can think of are a) get a taxi direct b) get a taxi to town and grab the aircoach from O'Connell St. or c) get a taxi to town and grab the Dublin Bus Airlink from O'Connell St.
Any ideas? I have been thinking I should arrive at 3:30pm at the latest to check-in. Thanks :)

Walk to or get a taxi to Heuston station and get the airlink from there. Leaving at 2:30 might be cutting it tight though!

I think most (all?) the 748 Airlink coaches from Heuston operate via O'Connell St. anyway .. so little point in going from Thomas St. down to Heuston just to come back up on the bus to O'Connell St. ... I'd say just go to the bus stops on O'Connell St. and get the Airlink/Aircoach whichever turns up first. (If you see a 746 bus you can get that for €1.65.. and it's fairly fast as people don't really catch it to Santry etc. so it doesn't stop much en route .. avoid the 41 Swords buses though .. they can be awful slow)

If you're flight is at 4.55 ... aiming to be there at 3.30 latest is a bit excessive ... I'd say aim to be there 3.55... if you're a little bit later than that you'll still be fine.

I'm not a regular commuter at the mo (thankfully!) but I used to travel rush-hour via Thomas Street to the Airport area. We used to drive to Islandbrige, Phoenix Park, via the Garda St. road - out at the Castleknock gate and then join the M50. It was never too bad to be honest (this was 6 months ago!) and with a taxi it could be even better. I don't wanna mislead you with a ETA but if it helps...
