    Does anyone here do it?

How well do they run? Speed? the joypads? easy enough to configure etc? what emu's work best on it?

im thinking about buying a dreamcast specifically and only for this reason.
like the idea of having one console and being able to play arcade/nes/megadrive etc all on the one thing

I messed about with dreamsnes and it worked ok with certain games albeit slowly. I havent bothered with running emus on the dcast in awhile so progression may have been made.

Theres a good port of Nestar onto the dreamcast which I used to use, ran fine at full speed. To be honest thats about all I could get running well, the snes emu at the time (bout a year ago) had some serious issues and the mame port would only run a couple of games at playable speeds.

To be honest you'd be better picking up an Xbox for emulation, I use mine pretty much exclusively for emus. Theres solid ports of most of the big emus, mame finalburn etc. I usually fire it up for the Snes emu though which is great, perfectly playable and the gameboy advance emu which again is perfect.

As usual check out www.zophar.net for the story on both dreamcast and xbox.

If you do pick up either I can sort you out with some of the prerequisites to get started, give me a shout.

    Chris
