It was in the men's high bar event. A russian did an excellent routine that should have earned first but only got third. The crowd went nuts. there was the loudest booing I've ever seen at any event. The next gymnast had to wait to do his routine. The booing went on for about 5 minutes. Well deserved too, some of the judges at the olympics have been truly shocking both in gymnastics and boxing.

I didn't see it. Referees and judges always have a tough time. Not the easiest of job. Sometimes they get it wrong.

I saw it , even though his landing was off , he deserved at least silver in the end , with the Italian being the only one who you could really except as having done better .
If it wasnt for the booing I feel the Italian would have done worse and the American would have one .
The same American that won because of judging mistakes a few days ago .

and in the Boxing (which I have watched less of as the days have gobe by) Andy Lee's fight against the Carmeroonian was a bit dodgey as the judges didnt seem to know the white part of the glove was there for a reason , as the fighter from Cameroon continually 'slapped' instead of punched and was being awarded points for it .
Once or twice he was given points while being close to Andy and throwing punches that were missing by a lot .

Saw it as well on the BBC. Not knowing anything about the sport and it's rules I'll give way to the BBC commentators and they were saying that that's the way the sport is. The rules and the way it's judged don't really allow for flamboyance and every tiny mistake is harshly penalised. So a gymnast can do an "easy" routine and win because he made no mistake whereas another can fly through the air all he wants but if he mucks up the landing he's screwed.
