Keane set to return for Tottenham

REPUBLIC OF IRELAND striker Robbie Keane could make his eagerly awaited return to Spurs’ squad in tomorrow night’s Premiership clash with West Brom at the Hawthorns.

The Dubliner has been sidelined with damaged ankle ligaments since July.

He has made quicker progress than expected and could win a place on the bench. However, the prognosis for Fredi Kanoute is not to so optimistic, with the Mali forward’s thigh injury still causing him some discomfort.

Tottenham hope to have two new faces in their squad with West Ham midfielder Michael Carrick and Nice defender Noe Pamarot on the brink of completing moves to White Hart Lane. Carrick, who has been linked with a switch to north London since Spurs’ attempts to sign Owen Hargreaves and Danny Murphy ended in failure, underwent a medical yesterday.

Spurs are anxious to complete the deal in time for the clash against West Brom with the Hammers asking in the region of £3.5 million.

Carrick and Pamarot have both signed.

I hope Keane isn't being rushed back just because Kanoute is a doubt for tomorrow night's game. I'd hate to see him aggrevate the injury by playing too soon.

I'd like to see him get 15 goals! I agree with therecklessone, there's no need to be risking his fitness against W.B.A. Should be able to take three points without needing Keane on the squad. I'd hope to see him back to full fitness and starting by the time we play Birmingham.
