Fedora - Monitor wont come out of power save

I've a dual booted system, with Windows 2000 and Fedora C2 installed. It was booted up with Fedora and I locked it and left the PC for a while. However when I came back the monitor had gone into power save mode, I tried moving the mouse or pressing a few keys to get a login screen, but with no repsonse from the monitor.

There was power to the monitor and the pc was still powered on, the only way I was able to recover was to reboot the PC and then it booted back up into linux just fine.

Has anyone else come across this or have any ideas how to get around this? I guess I could always disable powersave but would like to avoid this if possible

I had the same problem when running Mandrake 10.
Would also like to know how to fix it.
