During a rough period of sickness I lost my hair, fortunately it has grown completely back since without the aid of any lotions or drugs but during that time I had to come to terms with the possibility of remaining bald, not very common in my family, so I extentsively researched how to fight baldness in case it wouldn't grow back.

www.hairlosstalk.com - this is probably the best hairloss site on the net and the forums in particular.

I'm pretty sure Propecia's availability in Ireland is fairly restricted, but there are other ways of getting medication, just make sure you have a prescription ;) - google it

Propecia is a fairly expensive drug, there is a generic version of the drug available called Proscar which is the exact same tablet but significantly cheaper.

    Good luck

Actually I'm after deciding on it!
Proscar and Propecia are the same thing, finistadrine but proscar is 5mg while Propecia is 1mg. They are about the same price so if you cut the proscar into 4 and take a quarter a day it is the same (don't worry this is the done thing).
If you have a prescription you can get cheap proscar from http://www.candrugstore.com/, its like $60 canadian for 30, which is about 40euro for 4 months worth. FRICKIN EXCELLENT! CAW... CAW!!!

Only thing now, gotta get the prescription, my doc is bald.. bollox. I never really go to my doctor, do yis know if another doc will see me even tho he's not my family doc? I don't know what the story is with this doc jive..

If your not looking for someone who excepts the medical card then yea, just find any clinic make an appointment or use a walk in slot.

If your a student will there not be a free college doc once you back in term time.

Yeah that's supposed to be a common enough side-effect of finasteride (propecia/proscar). Did ya never notice the same thing if you've been erm.. entirely celebate for a while?

The only other side effect for men, and which is quite rare is a slight decrease in libido. If this happens and treatment is continued anyway it almost always corrects itself quick enough cos it's just your body adjusting to it. Finasteride is a DHT inhibitor. DHT (dihydroxytestosterone) is what causes genetically activated hairs to degrade, thin and just go. I think it is a bi-product of broken down testosterone..

Because of its hormonal nature finasteride should not be used by women. Also as a result of it being carried in the semen, it can mess up the hormones for a male foetus, so johnnys should be worn lads if she's up the duff. And treatment should be discontinued about 2 weeks prior if you are attempting to have a child.. For more information: http://www.drugdigest.org/DD/DVH/Uses/0,3915,262|Finasteride,00.html

There's only one sure cure for baldness,
a Mach three (what I've sued since i was 21/22).

    tribble

Mach 3, 'taint the answer for everyone. I had it for 6 months. And I'da kept it (cos it was easy to maintain) cept that I looked like a pure fool.. In general you need to have a dark complexion and a good ability to tan in order to carry it well (that's why a lot of black men carry it very well). If you have in any-way a funny shaped head you can just forget it..

Who gives a **** if your hair falls out.. As it stands, you are well on your way to obsessing about your hair for the rest of your life. Everytime you walk past a mirror you are gonna get self conscious.. Think of your girlfriend who obsesses over the "size" of here arse or her odd shaped nose.. Its crazy.. Its who you are, accept it and just dont give a ****.. Lop it all off even!!
