Buying a digital piano...

I've been saving for about a year to buy myself a digital piano for numerous reasons & I've just managed to save about enough now. Research online tells me that I should go for the Yamaha P90 or Roland EP-760 (I'm in a band & could really do with a stage piano, besides wanting a digital one for my own use) but I need to try one out before buying it. Any suggestions as to where would have one in stock (Dublin/Galway preferably)? I've already discovered that Waltons don't have either model, & Pianos Plus haven't emailed me back yet... Likewise, if anyone is trying to sell one then I'd be glad to try it out/ buy it! :D

We have a yamaha p80 here and i believe the p90 is the newer version. Its a fine stage piano and its been used at afew things now. Its very flexible. I take it you know that it requires an external amplifier. I can't tell you wich one is better because i've never seen or heard the roland but i hear korg make nice quality keyboards as well.

If your after a quality stage piano, the best I've ever heard and played is a Kurzweil pc88. Beats the pants off the yamaha ones. Although i do like yamaha. Its fairly ridiculously expensive, and you can only get them through england. If you're after a yamaha keyboard, the best place to try is Danfay (the irish yamaha dealer). Its on that street that joins onto georges street, dont know the name. Not dame street, the other end. Yeah, they can get anything made by yamaha there. Ask for robbie, he's a legend.

Danfay (on Aungier street :) ) is the best place to go try the Yamaha digital pianos, they usually have most of Yamaha's range in stock right there. However, they are unbelievably expensive compared to buying online. I bought a Yamaha Motif 7 online for €200 less than Danfay's trade price (they sell Yamaha to the trade). The P90 is for sale on Music Storefor €1049.

Korg SP-300 if you got the cash ....... the best weighted keys I've ever seen. Sounds super.

I played a yamaha p120 today in Bangkok, its a bit off a legend, might buy one depending on the cost at home. It was about 1400e here, but everything is cheaper here. Its got built in speakers which sound good on their own, good sound from the line out (i tryed with headphones), and the keys are well weighted and feel close enough to a real piano. the legs also come off and its not too big. and its got a wood finish which I liked. Anyone else heard off this or know how much it'll be?

I also played a Steinway grand piano worth 100,000e today. But that's irrelevant.
