its seems to have a problem with sound cards when used simultanously uninstall sound card driver and cam driver then reinstall cam driver first and see if this works...if it does you should be able to reinstall sound driver without if malfunctioning...this worked for me

Thanks for suggestion, but no fix. :(

Bloody drivers won't install for me at all. Plugged in the camera its detected as a usb camera I specify where the drivers are located and it tells me that it couldn't find them. I even downloaded the updated ones off their website anyone else having this problem? By the way I'm running windows xp pro on an Asus a7n8x-vm motherboard.

    Exactly the same problem.

    same problem here.
i had to give up before i ****ed the crappy little webcam at the wall.

uninstalling my sound drivers would entail uninstalling my chipset drivers (nforce2) and i'm not about to do that over a cheap ass webcam.
tried the drivers off the website and various installing/plugging in combinations.
might try booting into 2k tomorrow...

    me too ;)

stevejazzx - WinXP Pro as well?

No wonder its a free webcam the thing doesn't work thats why. I guess Esat must of got them really cheap.

me too. xp pro, all updates, latest drivers for all other hardware, and still the little ****e of a thing won't work.

did notice in the destructions for the thing that they tell you to install the drivers BEFORE plugging the little bugger in, but as usual, I assumed it would just work with XP as soon as i plugged it in.

have a laptop here too, so might try installing the drivers first and doing it that way round to see if it makes a difference, but at the moment the laptop is divx'ing the italian job for me from vobs on my lan, so I can't detatch it just yet to plug in the camera, but i might try later when it's finished.

anyway, it's all been made doubly bad by the fact that even though my bb has been installed 3 weeks, it's still not working. thankfully have some nice scottish fella just called to make sure i'd be in for an on-site visit at 10am, so fingers crossed i'll be up and running by the time he leaves, or at least be able to confirm that it's definately fux0red at their end, not mine.

actually while I'm here, can anyone confirm that i have the right settings on my prestige cigar box/dsl modem?

    WAN Information:
    Mode: Routing
    Encapsulation: PPPoE
    Multiplexing: LLC
    VPI/VCI: 8/35
    Service Name :
    User Name : <mytopsecretusername;-)>
    Password : ********
IP Address : Obtain an IP Address Automatically
    Network Address Translation: SUA Only
Connect on Demand: Max Idle Timeout 0 sec.

    LAN Information:
    IP Address: 192.168.1.1
    IP Mask: 255.255.255.0
    DHCP: ON
Client IP Pool Starting Address: 192.168.1.33
Size of Client IP Pool: 32

this is pretty much how it came out of the box (my username has been removed obviously). should that work?

have tried both ethernet and usb, and can log into the thing fine (changed admin password to be safe), and set up my username and password fine, but fails all diagnostics. i get power and sys lights, and either ethernet or usb depending on what i'm using, but no dsl light.

have tried both phone sockets (straight in with no extensions) with and without filters and with 2 different pc's just in case, but no joy.

just out of curiousity, i was under the impression that even though the dsl should work with no microfilter, that the phone would not work unless a filter was on the line because the dsl signal would get in the way. is this true or have i been misled, because my phone still works without a microfilter. would it just be the case once a modem on that line is connected, or all the time?

thnx, and sorry for going OT, but it seems like all the right people are in this thread, and I didn't want to waste a new thread on it.

Had the same problems on XP Pro, but eventually worked for me by uninstall the driver from the CD, remove the camera, install driver from ftp://driver.chicony.com.tw/DC-2120.zip (seems it's a 2120 not 2110 which the driver on the CD is for), reboot, and finally reattach the camera.

i got win xp pro and its working dandy but i had problems 3 or four hours worth, remove everything all drivers for the f***er, and then remove it from device manager, all traces, then remove your sound driver (momentarily) as the camera is designed to interact simul with sound via your sound card and that crappy little mic that came with it as a seperate ( and start afresh the driver is the cif usb camera(2110a) only and no other driver and wathch out for installing same device on multiple usb ports as that goona cause probs obviously, install by using cd menu so close the windows hardware auto detect window and install driver and then install arc software then you restart and voila, this should work, if this doesnt work destroy the b***tard

would probably work for me were it not for the file being a 50mb download. :P

don't i wish my fecking bb connection worked!

    dammit.

engineer came this morning and very knowledgably told me it was fecked.

got to wait now to see what comes of it all.

    dammit.
