OS X Tiger thoughts

So I've installed the Tiger dev preview on my powerbook, and all seems ok .. Sherlock is pretty cool, and I do find I use it a fair bit more often than finder, like Jobs said! Its very handy to search through mail with 1/2 a gig of IMAP mail. However Mail app still is lacking some stuff to make it really usable.

Dashboard is pretty cool too, only unlike Konfabulator the gadgets (widgets in Konfab) are olny visble in Exposé. Also the choice of gadgets is still very limited .. but I'm sure that'll change before release. Dashboarder has a few in the meantime, and I'm sure other sites will crop up, along the way.

Haven't had the change to use iChat video conferencing (as, clearly, I have no friends whatsoever). Also, not being a regular XCode user, I haven't noticed any huge differences.

VNC finally works!!! I was using OSXvnc with Panther, but it never worked, no matter what I tried. I could get mouse/keyboard, but never video (regardless, of encoding, and everything). On Tiger, though, it works a treat :)

I vaguely remember having the option to upgrade, but I didn't trust that so installed on a clean disk. It did, however, warn me that I wouldn't be able to update to the Tiger release, when it is release.. that much I do remember.
