    25th - 26th September

    Hi folks...
Yes it's actually happening - Sligo is getting a CON
We're hoping it'll be a success and that there'll be something for everyone who turns up!
Loads of support and help coming in from all over the place so it should be a fantastic weekend.

Come along and bring your crazy hat! It's going to be a bit mad 'cos it's our first go at this but... Heh - we're not panicking! (Yet)

Info WILL be on the webby www.flatearthsoc.com Sunday evening (even if I have to personally beat our web guy (sic) into submission...

Best of luck. If I can make it, I will. And then I can browbeat a few of ye to come down to the Galway con next March!

One of us actually does have a crazy hat, incidentally. It's pink and woolly and has penguins, googly eyes and bells on...

We were down in Galway a couple of weeks ago to have a chat and it looks like we're all going to be sprinting pell-mell down to Itzacon in March :)

We up here in Sligo were delighted to hear that Galway is getting a CON at last - the North West has been CON-starved for years and now we have 2 starting up! FANTASTIC NEWS!

Penguins more than welcome by the way ;)

Aye, I would have joined ye for a drink but I was passed out after a night shift. Too bad. I'll try and drag as many as possible to Sligo as I can. Nice shiny website, by the way. I like the logo. :)

Done. And half a dozen Galway gamers are up for the trip. More might follow. :)

Now, to confirm that weekend off work...

Hmm, I might manage to attend, but it's a very long trip up there from Cork :/

Might have to settle for seeing you guys at Gaelcon.

Blimey, I had more cash than I thought. Maybe I'll buy a crazy hat before heading up.

Incidentally, according to the trip organiser, you guys have been really helpful getting thiings sorted. I'm really quite looking forward to this!

I've been working on a miniatures tabletop drinking game. I was going to call it either Barhammered or 40K in 40 shots... :)

No, no, thank you! Ye did a great job lads, Here's hoping ours'll be as good! :D

I concur. An excellent first performance. The highlight was without a doubt the entire Lord Of The Rings trilogy re-enacted by the con team in 60 seconds. Pure genious. Well done, Guy et al., on behalf of everyone in Galway, we had a f*cking ball! :)

Ooooh, ar you bringing the video of that to Gaelcon? I missed it cos I was playing Silent Hill...
/me is still creeped out by that...

There shall be video footage of confess (hopefully on sale at the auction UNVIEWED) but... The dang camera died apparently after about 20 seconds of the LOTR! Aaaagh!

I nearly died when I found out!!

    *sigh* Anyhooo....

    :)

Aw, so no LOTR :( did anyone take photos? At least we'll still get to see the antics of Team *spling! :D

    You mean your antics...

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 56 ✭✭Salubri

Hmm I don't actually know - the footage will really be unviewed... The only people to see any of it will be the editing team (none of us) who won't talk to us about it until after it has been sold... *grin*
They are however crazy people and you can expect pretty much everything that they have to be included in some form! As team *spling spent so much time in front of the camera they are bound to be on it!

    :)

I'll have you know I won't be appearing on that video, thankfully it didn't work during the macarena "incident"!

    Or so I've been told....

Had a great time down there, more of the maynooth crowd will be down next year and of course ladden with senarios.

Glad you enjoyed Silent Hill, Fozzle.
