Over the last number of days - there has been numerous news reports concerning underage drinking in the North.

Here is a couple of news reports below:
    From the Mid Ulster Mail
MAGHERAFELT District Council is backing measures to combat underage drinking in the area.
And they have agreed to form a small working committee consisting of representatives from the PSNI and licensing trade to look at ways of tackling the problem.
One of the suggestions under consideration is the introduction of an identity card scheme.... more
    From the Irish News
A BORDER nightclub has begun breathalysing teenagers at its under-18s discos in a bid to stamp out under-age drinking.....more

Do we have a problem? Is the Media over reacting? It is just to put the fear of god into teenagers before they get their GSCE results?

I personally think the idea of underage drinking is rediculous, as the age limit has always changed over the years (past 100 years).

I do think that being taught the dangers of binge drinking though is something to look at, as if people are told not to drink till they're 18, at that age they may binge drink as they're new to it.
